Calligram

Artist Statement:

I decided to create a Calligram using my favorite letter, "A." The words inside the "A" consist of a letter I wrote to my future self 20 years from now. At first, I thought I would use a palm tree for this project, but then I decided that I would suffice with this letter because it is very special to me. My name starts with an "A," and I like how it is the alphabet's first letter. I also like the idea of this letter because since I am writing this letter to myself, and I am "A," it will be cute when in 20 years, I read this and see it inside an A because it will be my past self who wrote it and my future self reading it, but the same person. I decided to add something special and make every word that starts with an "a" be a different color, so they stand out, and whenever I wrote my name, I made them pink, so that stands out even more. To create this, I used the compound path tool to be able to write inside my letter. I made my letters align so it would not look choppy on the right side, and it fit the outline nicely.

If you double-click the background, you can make it into a new one where you can edit it. You can make different groups of layers, which is pretty cool. Business Card Sketches

  These up here are my three sketches for possible business cards. It took me a little bit because I wanted to think of cool designs and not be boring. I like them because they are all different types of styles. The top one is more formal because it has less design, and it gets straight to the point. The second one has some lines and circles to add some design. Finally, the last one has some flowers which I think makes it look charming. Even though flowers can be a little overwhelming for professional things, I believe a couple of them or tiny ones would look fine.
